There's something to be said for not having to learn a completely different interface and set of software for each of your OSes, after all. If you're a dual-platform household, you can use Stellar Phoenix for all your data receovery needs. When it detects a graphics file, it assigns an arbitrary filename that includes the dimensions of the image, for example, "1326x1190-12176.png." (The 12176 is an arbitrary number.) If you know that you're looking for a large file, the dimensions can help you find it.
